Engineering Excellence on the Jamuna River

Ratio Structural Engineering Inc. is proud to have successfully delivered temporary works designs for the installation of massive foundation piles in the Jamuna River, Bangladesh. This project posed complex technical and logistical challenges—but also presented an incredible opportunity to apply our expertise in structural and marine engineering.

We extend our congratulations to our Tier 1 contractor partner in India and the dedicated site team for their outstanding execution on this project.

Our scope of engineering solutions included:

  • Design of lifting tools and tilting frames for piles exceeding 200 metric tons, ranging from 2000 mm to 2800 mm in diameter, 120 mm thick, and up to 90 metres in length
  • Drivability analysis and piling hammer selection to support smooth and efficient installation
  • Naval architecture, barge stability analysis, and critical lift planning to ensure safe operations under dynamic conditions
  • Barge anchoring systems and anchoring spread design, specifically developed for high-flow river environments
  • Piling frames and adjustable clamps, accommodating over 150 mm in barge positioning tolerance for accurate pile placement

This project highlights our ability to deliver innovative, field-adapted solutions and reinforces our commitment to precision, safety, and performance across all phases of marine and structural engineering.
